You Were Born Whole

When we arrive in this world, we are inherently whole. We are open-hearted, joyful, curious beings—trusting, vibrant, and full of potential. Anyone who has watched a baby smile at a stranger or laugh with abandon knows this truth instinctively.

While our DNA gives each of us a unique blueprint, at our core, we all begin life with a sense of wonder and unselfconscious acceptance. We don’t doubt our worth. We don’t question whether we are lovable. We are simply here—present, playful, and connected to ourselves.

Deep inside, we know that we are ok! 

But Life Changes Us

As we grow, we’re shaped by the world around us—our families, schools, cultural messages, and personal experiences. We hear the judgments of parents, teachers, and guardians. We start to focus on things that do not make us happy, and because of that, we become less happy.

Over time, many of us begin to lose touch with our authentic selves, with that inner sense of feeling comfortable with who we are. For some, this disconnection is subtle. For others, it’s the result of significant trauma, chronic stress, or repeated emotional wounds.

The deeper this disconnection is, the louder the internal voice that says:
“Something’s missing.”

We begin to feel like there is a hole inside us.
So, we look for stuff to fill the hole.

We try to fill it with nicotine, or alcohol, or sugar, or drugs, or screen time, or obsessive tidying, or any number of other external things. Like an anaesthetic, these coping mechanisms may provide temporary relief, but in the long term, they create new layers of pain, keeping us further from our true selves.

The Inner Critic and Self-Judgment

At the same time, we get taught to be more and more judgmental. We start to criticise ourselves. As we do this, we become less confident. Our self-esteem drops. We become less loving to ourselves and find it harder in turn to love or be loved.

So, What is Healing Hypnotherapy?

Healing Hypnosis is an approach that I have created, based on many years' work in this area.

It is grounded in clinical hypnotherapy, an evidence-based practice that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help individuals access their subconscious mind. When we’re in this calm, open state, we can gently reprocess old patterns, reduce emotional reactivity, and build new, healthier habits from the inside out.

The difference with my work is that it is also informed by intuition. Why? Because I have found that when we follow our intuition, we make progress far more quickly.

By combining hypnotherapy with breathwork and intuitive guidance, Healing Hypnosis offers a holistic, compassionate approach to change.

As I always say to clients, I just sit around chatting – you do all the work!
